Interview Preparation (Virtual)
There is no one "best" way to prepare for an interview. Rather, there are specific and important strategies to enhance one's chances for interview success. Every interview is a learning experience, so learning that takes place during the preparation, and the actual interview process is useful for future interviews.
Initial preparation requires a recent assessment of skills, interests, values, and accomplishments; a re-assessment and updating of one's resume; and research on the targeted company/organization and position. Preparation also includes the actual practice of typical and targeted interview questions. Final preparation includes details of dress and appearance, knowledge of the location of the interview, what to expect, and protocols for follow-up.
Resume Writing/Revision
Writing a great resume does not necessarily mean you should follow the rules you hear through the grapevine. It does not have to be one page or follow a specific resume format. Every resume is a one-of-a-kind marketing communication. It should be appropriate to your situation and do exactly what you want it to do (which is to sell you to the employer). Instead of a bunch of rules and tips, PHRC will help you create a resume that captures your overall life experience.
Career Coaching/Counseling
Career Coaching is an open dialogue between you and your coach to discuss:
-
The exploration of needs, motivations, desires, skills, and thought processes in making real, lasting change.
-
Use questioning techniques to facilitate your own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions rather than takes a wholly directive approach
-
Support you in setting appropriate goals and methods of assessing progress in relation to these goals
-
Observe, listen and ask questions to understand the client's situation
-
Creatively apply tools and techniques, which may include one-to-one training, facilitating, counseling & networking.
